Last Wednesday (Sept 29) Ron and I had taken the kids to school days at the fair. Afterwards, we had some time, so we stopped at Sports Authority to pick up some binoculars that we owed my parents, plus my mom and I were going to the Carrie Underwood concert later and figured we could use them. On our way home to get ready for work, we were driving in the left hand lane on Ming and this kid pulled out, crossed over 3 lanes, right in front of us! We honked, slammed on our brakes, but ended up hitting him. The guy then decides he's not stopping and takes off. Ron immediately calls the police and starts going after him explaining what streets we were taking. The guy finally gave up and pulled into an apartment complex. After much talk waiting for the police to arrive, he explains that he has no license, no insurance, he's driving his girlfriends car, etc. After the police got there, they talked with us & then to him, the stories were the same because he knew he was in trouble anyway. The police did a background check and the kid (who's about 24-25) has a warrant out for his arrest! We left before they took him away. So now we are trying to get our car fixed, but have to wait for the insurance company to look at the vehicle before they will work on it. In the meantime, Ron's grandparents were kind enough to loan us their car! We also have to get new car seats (there's a law that requires you to get new car seats if you have children in them at the time of the accident). We will get reimbursed, which is nice, but we had finally gotten everything situated so we could fit 3 carseats in the back, so our shopping is limited now! Here's the damage done to our car.
