Basically, the same as yesterday. One #1 accident due to me not taking him when I said I was going to. Yea for progress! Tomorrow will be the big challenge as he will be going to Lindsey's in the afternoon for about 6 hours. She's tried having him sit on the toilet before, but he's just screamed and cried. Let's cross our fingers 'cause I'm putting him in underwear!
By the way, is it just me or does it seem like kids sit on the toilet longer for #2 than if they were going in their diaper?

The Things He Says...
The other day when Michael had just gotten up from his nap I was holding him and he says "I'm so happy!"
When we were on the potty, he was sitting there and says "Okay, I have an idea! How 'bout the screwdriver starts the movie?" I'm not quite sure where he came up with a screwdriver starting a movie, but the 'I have an idea' part was hilarious!
We've been trying to keep Michael from coming in our room at night, so I've been telling him before he goes to bed to not come into mommy & daddy's room until the sun comes up. Now, occasionally, he will say "is the sun out?" no matter the time of day!

Ron's Birthday Gift "Sneak Peak"
On June 22nd, Ron will be the big 3-0, and I wanted to do something special for him. I thought about throwing a suprise party, but that didn't pan out. So, I came up with the next best thing (except WAY better!) and this is a preview. If you know what it is or figure it out, DON'T TELL HIM!!! All he knows is that we're going out of town for a couple of days (just the two of us) and that he's bringing his clubs! I'm so excited! I just hope I can keep it a secret until then! (he doesn't check my blog unless I show him what I've posted!)

"Real" Big Boy Underwear...Day 1
I had Michael in his "real" big boy underwear all day today and only one #1 accident!! He acted like he needed to go and I asked him, but he said no (yes, I usually take him anyway, but it hadn't been that long since he went, so I didn't take him and he went...my fault!). He would've had a #2 accident, also, but I noticed the look on his face before anything happened and we ran to the bathroom! Here he his showing of his "cool underwear".

Goodbye Old Friend!
Ron and I have had this kitchen table since we've been married. My mom bought it for us at an estate sale because our apartment was too little for a normal table. It's worked out perfect so far. The kids have eaten many a meal at this table, but, alas, it has gotten too small for our family. There are only 2 chairs, so we can't all sit down at once and I don't want to eat EVERY meal at the big dining table, so the search was on for a new table. Ron didn't want to spend a lot of money, and I didn't want it to look ugly. I searched several places online and everything I liked was too much. We got a letter in the mail telling us about an "exclusive" sale that Taylor & Taylor Interiors was having (I'm sure a lot of people got one!). They are supposedly quitting the business (however, they own Red Door Interiors, also, which is still in business) and were having a 4 day sale. We decided to go check it out and I found my table!
So far, I LOVE it! It's so pretty! I love the color. It doesn't match my cabinets, but that's the color I would've gotten my cabinets had I wanted to spend a bunch of money on upgrades. Most all my other furniture is this color, too. Amanda is going to take my old table, so I'll still visit it every now and then!

My Grandma
I've had my grandma on my mind a lot today. I miss her terribly. It's been about 5 1/2 years since she passed, but it's still so hard sometimes. The night before we went down to the Temple for my wedding, my dad gave me a blessing and my mom gave me my grandmas wedding set that she had resized and soldered together so I could wear them. Originally, my grandpa had them engraved with AML AML FTAAE (all my love, all my life, for time and all eternity). After time, the engraving is gone and I've thought many times that I'd like to re-do it, but the bands have worn so thin, that I couldn't do it. Today at work, I asked my boss (the jeweler) what I could do to preserve the look of her set, but re-engrave it. The options look promising, so now it's just a matter of cost, which I don't know yet. While talking to him, I just had this overwhelming sadness come over me and I couldn't help but think about my grandma and how much I've missed her. I'm so glad that she isn't in the pain that she is in, but I just wish sometimes that I could give her a hug and have her around my children. I know that in the few years after she died and before they were born they had some great times together, and I know she is aware of how I've turned out, but it would be nice to see her reaction to some of the crazy things my kids do. Grandma, I love you, I miss you, and thank you so much for the wonderful memories!

Osteoarthritis
Ron went to a foot specialist Friday to get his ankles checked out. Ron has REALLY flat feet! So bad that it seems like he has a reverse arch in his feet! It's been really bothering him lately so he decided to go to the dr. He took a look at him and diagnosed him with osteoarthritis. It's so bad, the doctor told him he has the ankles of a 70 year old man! He goes in Monday, the 30th, for an MRI and will get some orthodics to try out for awhile. (He's tried them before, but he's either broken them 'cause his feet are so flat, or they don't work.) Plan B is surgery where they will break his foot and re-create an arch. Sounds like fun, eh? No word yet as to any meds, but I'm sure they will know more after the MRI. Wish us luck!
Easter's on it's Way!
As you come into our housing development, there are these really pretty orange and yellow daisies. I've seen several people taking pictures and thought "I should get the kids out there & take pictures! So, there you have it. I took more, but I don't want to post anymore until after I get Easter cards mailed so that the grandparents can see them first. I may even take more since I'm not real crazy about the shots with both kids. The individuals turned out pretty cute, though! The downfall is that the area where the flowers are is that there are HUGE empty spots, so you have to get the camera angle just right so you don't see that, but when you're photographing kids, you aren't always focusing on dirt spots, just on getting the kids to look at the camera at the same time! Enjoy!

First Time In Public!
Emma had a doctor's appointment this morning for her vaccines, and before we left I decided to go potty before Costco and thought I'd have Michael go to. After I got done, I tried to have him go to and he threw a fit! He was screaming and crying! I figured that the nurses were probably going to call CPS on me! I finally said forget it and we left. I had already mentioned to him if he went, we would get "chickadonalds" (McDonald's chicken nuggets) and chocolate milk, so when we got to Costco, he promised he would go....until we got in the bathroom! I wasn't going to have another dr's office incident, so I didn't fight and we just left. I had a couple things in the cart when he said he would go...again! The whole way to the bathroom, I would ask him "are you gonna go potty?" "yep!" I put my cart by the "go back" section because I've never seen anyone move any of the carts from there, went to the bathroom and once again, he freaked out! I did get him sit on the toilet, but he refused to go. After much pursuasion, and several people that used the bathroom while I was in there thinking that I was crazy, he FINALLY went! To which I gave him an M&M and we had some chickadonalds. Hopefully this wont last long!

Whoo-hoo!
I worked today, so I wasn't able to be home to have Michael try to go potty and hoped that Ron would take him, to which he did try, but Michael is having issues with anyone other than me take him potty and he only likes to go in "his" toilet! So, there was no luck with the potty today. However, we sat down to read scriptures tonight before bed and i got to about verse 11 and he told me he needed to go potty. We stopped and went in the bathroom and he started out standing up (because he said he needed to go potty) then put the seat down and sat down (of course I'm thinking 'this is going to be a long night!') and not too long after that....out came some poo-poo! Hooray! Progress! Maybe it wont be as bad as I've made it out to be!

Know Your Hubby
I saw this on someones blog and thought it looked like fun, so here you go!
Here's a chance to see how well you really know your husband. Cut, paste and fill in the answers, then check with your spouse, to see how right you really are.
1. He's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen? Golf, the Lakers, or the History Channel
2. You're out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad? Honey Mustard
3. What's one food he doesn't like? TOMATOES!
4. You go out to eat and have a drink. His drink would be? Usually it's Diet Pepsi/Coke, but lately it's been 1/2 diet and 1/2 lemonade
5. Where did he go to high school? Garces & Seaholme
6. What size shoe does he wear? I think it's a 12ish
7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be? Hats & golf balls
8. What is his favorite type of sandwich? Hot dog sandwich (I know, he's weird!)
9. What would he eat every day if he could? Chinese Food
10. What is his favorite cereal? Honey Bunches of Oats, but he's been eating the kids Trix & Lucky Charms lately
11. What would he never wear? Spandex?
12. What is his favorite sports team? Seattle Seahawks for football & the Lakers for Basketball
13. Who did he vote for? The same one I did
14. Who is his best friend? I've been told that he loves our kids more than me, so I guess them.
15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do? Talk...constantly!
16. What is his Heritage? If you ask him, he's Indian and Mexican, but that's just to get out of wearing sunscreen!
17. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind of cake? Anything but chocolate!
18. Did he play sports in high school? Golf, football, baseball, basketball...etc!
19. What could he spend hours doing? GOLF
20. What is one thing you appreciate about him? There's plenty more than one thing, but I appreciate his love for me and the children the most. He's such a great husband and father, I feel so blessed to be married to him!

AAAAHHHH!!
This whole potty training thing is going to drive me INSANE!! It's been 2 days and he's gone really well for me (not for Lindsey whose been watching the kids or even for Ron!). Michael peed twice & pooped once last night, then peed (standing up!) this morning, and when we got home he's peed a few more times. The thing that's going to drive me insane is the fact that he is constantly saying that he has to go, to which I take him (just in case), but then can't decide whether he wants to stand up, sit down, go poop, can't go at all, needs to use the Elmo chair, etc! We pretty much spend about 20-30 minutes in the bathroom! It's ridiculous! I don't want to get mad, or show that I'm fed up because I don't want him to take my emotions the wrong way. I am really glad that he's showing the interest, but I'm not one to like to waste time, and sitting on the edge of the tub watching Michael decide what he feels like doing is pretty much a waste of time! I just hope this wont last! They should make a mini boarding school where you could send kids to learn how to potty train and you don't get them back until they are accident free! I would miss them, but I'm pretty sure it would be worth it! :o)

Potty Training!
I guess we have been putting off potty training long enough and now I think it's time to get serious! Yeah, sure, we've had him sit on the potty several times and he's gone a few times, but we either didn't keep up on it or when we asked him if he wanted to sit on the potty, he would say "no". I haven't really wanted to push him into potty training, but I now feel like I need to do something more. Tonight, just before I changed him in his jammies, I asked him if he wanted to go pee-pee in the toilet and he said "yes", so I took him in there and he actually went! THEN he told me he had to poop and, lo and behold, HE DID! (This part gets a little graphic, but it's funny so just keep reading!) He squeezed out a couple "logs" :o) and then looked at me and said "Mommy, I've got one more..." and then squeezed out one more little one! About 20-30 minutes later, he told me he wanted to go again. I didn't believe him, but I took him anyway, and he WENT POTTY AGAIN! I'm so excited! I hope this lasts!

Flashback to the 80's
Our ward had an 80's dance party at the end of February, so the kids and I went all decked out in our "last minute" 80's gear. I literally bought Michaels shirt and my outfit a couple hours before the event! Ron's mom had given Emma the outfit she was wearing and I thought it worked out perfect for the occasion!
I found this shirt on clearance at Target! Too bad it's getting warmer & he wont wear it much longer!
My cutie pie!

A Moment to Document!
That's right! After years of watching Ron play golf, I finally went out and played my very first WHOLE round of golf today! Ron's family bought me a set of clubs for the Christmas before I had Michael (just before I got pregnant with him) and I only used them at the driving range during that trip and maybe once after that...maybe. But I had gotten pregnant and didn't feel like going to hit balls and take lessons. Then after Michael was born, Emma came along, so I hadn't had too many opportunities to play. It also didn't help that Ron was having second thoughts about wanting me to learn because he felt that I would interrupt his "guy time" by wanting to play with him all the time and wouldn't be able to play with his buddies! But, I guess he decided to "bite the bullet" and let me go play with him and a lady I used to work with (whom he's been giving lessons to). We were only going to play 9 holes, but since they make you pay for a full round regardless, we decided to keep going. I, actually, did pretty good for not ever playing before! I even suprised Ron with how well I did. I would post my score, but we didn't keep one (as the lady he gives lessons to doesn't play very well either!), but my best hole was a par 4 and I made it in 5 WITHOUT picking up! Ron says if I had putted better, my score would've been much better. I only lost 3 balls to the water, whereas Debi lost about 15 (and not just to the water either!) All in all, I had a GREAT afternoon and had lots of fun playing golf with my hubby! Hopefully it wont be as long when we play again! Thanks Babe! And don't worry, I wont ask to play ALL the time! :o)

"I Hold You, Mommy!"
I wanted to document this before he stops saying it, but whenever Michael wants us to hold him, he says "I hold you!" Even tonight, we were getting out of the car near Rosemarys, so there were a cars driving by and he said "I hold you daddy! There's cars!" He's so cute!
Car Ride
We were on our way home and Ron & Michael were having a fun little "match of words". Michael would say "NO, YOU THE BAD GUY!" And Ron would come back with something like "WELL I'LL KICK YOUR BUTT!" And so on. Then Michael says "NO, I'M SPIDERMAN!" and Ron said "NO, I'M SPIDERMAN!" To which Michael replied "NO, YOU A HIPPO!" I was cracking up laughing! Where does he come up with this stuff?

Happy Birthday Jarom!
Today is Jarom's 4th birthday! He is having his birthday party tomorrow and I asked him if I didn't bring him a present, could I still come to his birthday? Without even hesitating, he said "YEAH!" I the asked him if I brought a present, what should I bring? And he said that he wanted a Super Mario Bros. coloring book for him and an Imagination Movers coloring book for Aaron! He is such a sweet little boy with an infectious smile! He always comes up with the funniest stuff! He is CONSTANTLY kissing my kids! From the minute Michael was born, Jarom has just LOVED to kiss him on his head and has now passed it on to Emma. He is so fun to be around and I love that the kids are close and see each other often! They love to be around one another! We're so thankful that Jarom is in our family! We Love You, Jarom! Happy Birthday!
(I found these pictures in my files...some of my favorites!)
15 Month Check-Up!
Emma went to her 15 month check-up Wednesday. Everything went great! She now weighs in at 22 lbs 6 1/4 oz and is 31 inches tall! She said she's in the 50-75% for height and has come back from being in the 10% in weight to being 50%! Take that Dr. Pardo! After the doctor was finished, he didn't mention shots, so I got her dressed, scheduled the next appt and left. When I got home (which is where my phone was) Ron said that the doctors office called and explained that she needed vaccines. So, I rescheduled for today for vaccines. I got up, got dressed, fed Michael and went to get Emma up, and she felt really warm. I took her temp and it was 101 degrees! I gave her Tylenol and called the doctor to see if they could check that out, too, and they said they wont give her vaccines if she has a fever. Great! I took her in anyway because Michael has pnemonia (sp?) and I wanted to make sure she was okay, and she has a bit of a sore throat & they've pushed back the vaccines for 2 more weeks! Ahh the joys of motherhood!
