Update

Okay, So Ron took Emma for her 6 month checkup about 3 weeks ago where they said that she was underweight and to feed her more high calorie foods. We had a follow-up appt last Wednesday where she had only gained 1 oz in 2 wks, where she's supposed to be gaining a 1/2 oz everyday. So, the doctor ordered for her to get an Upper GI and a Sweat Chloride test along with some blood work. So, last Thursday we took her get the Upper GI and they said she only refluxed once in 5 minutes, which is normal. Then, today, I took her to get the Sweat Chloride test done, but she wouldn't sweat, so it didn't work. They still got a urine sample and blood work, though. So, I had to call the doctor and let them know that the sweat test didn't work and what to do next. They said that they were going to wait for the blood work results to come in and see if she needs to go through the sweat test again. We go in for a follow-up/weight check next Tuesday. Ahh....the joys of motherhood!

Look Alike Meters....

I found this cute meter thing through someone elses blog. I thought it was fun, but I don't think it's very accurate! Emma is TOTALLY me 26 years ago and Michael has more of Daddy's features!

Hawaii, Here We Come!!!

Yesterday, Ron played in the Mercedes Benz Championship qualifier at Bakersfield Country Club. We debated on whether or not he should play, as money is a little tight right now and we're trying to save for a trip to Washington in August. So we discussed the expense and I told Ron to make a list of all the tournaments he wanted to play in and then prioritize them to the ones he really wanted to play in and then check out the finances. The cool thing about this tourney was that if he won, he would get an all expense paid trip to Hawaii in which I could go to, we'd just have to pay for my plane ticket. So I REALLY wanted him to play 'cause I've never been, but I was afraid we'd pay all that money and for some reason wouldn't win (the guy who won last year didn't have to win by much and Ron is getting really good, even despite not getting to play much). So we bit the bullet and he played. I waited and waited for him to call and when he finally did, he told me that he missed winning by 1 shot. I was disappointed, but glad that he had a good time. Right after work, I met up with him, the kids & my mom at Chili's for her birthday. After that was ice cream at Rosemary's and then home for bath/bed. I walked in the kitchen and saw his crystal trophey on the counter and asked him if that was his 2nd place trophey, and he said "No, it's the 1st place trophey!" He wanted to suprise me, and boy was I! I'm so excited, but, the only thing that stinks is that he will be golfing during the day, so I'll have to do some things by myself. But, he said there will be nice dinners every night and even a sunset dinner cruise! It's supposed to be sometime in January, so I can't wait! It'll be good, 'cause Emma will be 1 already, so I wont have to worry about pumping, or anything, so that'll be nice! Anyway, I'll keep you all posted on details as I get them! Aloha!

Happy Birthday Grandma!!!

Today is Grandma Pitts' birthday and we just wanted to wish her a Happy Day and let her know how much we appreciate her love and kindness. She is always willing to watch the kids and LOVES to spoil them! It's funny how your opinion changes about what the kids are doing/eating when you become a grandma! We are so grateful to have her in our lives and look forward to having more and more fun adventures with her. WE LOVE YOU!!!

Help!!!

For the 3 of you that read my blog, I need some advice! Michael is now sleeping in a toddler bed and has been for about 4-5 months now. He had been doing fine for the longest time, just the occasional get up and open the door, but he knew that if he came out of his room, he'd get in trouble, so most of the time he'd fall asleep in the doorway. Not that big of a deal. But lately, he has been coming out of his room more and more and it's taken over an hour to get him to fall asleep! I have tried EVERYTHING! I've tried being mean and spanking, I've tried being nice and talking to him about how he needs to close his eyes & go to sleep. I've tried NOT talking to him and just watching him walk back to his room, but it's SOOOOOO frustrating, because it's up, down, up, down, up down. Some days he even cries like he's hurt and it makes me feel bad and I want to just stay in there while he falls asleep, but I'm afraid that if I do that every night, it will be worse in the long run, because he will think that I'm going to stay in there every night. I just don't understand why it's so difficult at night for him. He does't have this problem during naps. I have the same routine every night, so he knows the pattern, but doesn't give me a hard time until after prayers/kisses & I get up to leave. I've also tried leaving the night light on (thinking he was scared of the dark), I've tried turning it off, I've tried leaving the door open, and shutting it. Tonight I'm trying soft music, but it doesn't seem to help since it's 9:30 and he's been doing this since 8:15. I've thought about putting him back in a crib, but since he's been out of one for so long, I don't really want to do that to him. Anyway, if anyone has ANY advice, PLEASE let me know!!! I'm going crazy!!!
