Look Out, South Carolina!!!

Today Ron played in the Monday qualifier for the US Mid-Amateur golf tournament in Fresno, CA. He played one round and shot 1 under par along with 3 other players. They went into a playoff and on the first hole, Ron drained a 30 footer for birdie, when no one else did! This win qualified him to play in the Mid-Am tourney in South Carolina October 3rd through the 8th! Not bad for only playing a couple times a month! Unfortunately, he will be gone for my birthday, but I suppose I should get used to it! I have a feeling my birthday will be forgotten from now on! (especially since Michael and I are only a week apart!)

Happy Birthday Grandma K!!

Yesterday was Grandma K's birthday! The kids called and left messages for her. She, unfortunately, had to take her last baby to Utah to go away to school. She will now have an empty nest back home, but we hope that will free up some time for more visits! The kids always have such a great time when she is here! We hope you had a great birthday, we love you lots, and will see you soon!

Michael's First Golf Tournament

Michael played in his very first golf tournment today! He had a blast! They played 3 par 3 holes and he shot 11, 6, and 7!! Not bad for a 2 year old! He's been telling everyone he see's that he "just played in a golf tournament!" ALL DAY!! And keeps asking to go play some more! I think they're going to try to have a tournament once a month. I think this will be good experience for him and he will enjoy it a ton!

Some Other Stuff

Michael and Daddy hanging out.

My sleepy girl! (This was the day she was running a fever.)

She had just curled up on the couch and fell asleep with her "bankie".

While Emma was in the Shower...

Michael was busy bringing the kitchen barstool in our closet, climbing up on top, pulled down a few games to get to his hockey stick! I pretty much have no hiding spots left!

Emma, Emma, Emma!

Ice cream face!

I left the Clorox with bleach spray on the dresser in the spare room when we set the kids up back there to watch a movie and Emma got a hold of it, stepped on it, and it got ALL OVER the carpet!

Because she got it on her skin, we had to put her in the shower for like 15 minutes...She LOVED it, though!

Styling Gel

I had Michael go potty and he was gone for quite some time, so I thought I'd check on him. His new thing is to lock the doors, but we can still get in, so when I opened the door, I was looking down at the floor to see if there was a mess there, then my eyes panned to the toilet to make sure there was something in there and not just a mess, then I panned up farther and saw Michael with green soap all over his head! My brother had just put some in his hair the day before to spike it up, so I guess he thought he'd do it again!

Laundry!

I do laundry every monday. Usually everything goes smooth. This time, not so much! I was washing the kids clothes, and as I was putting it in the dryer, noticed that Michael had put his pull up in the dirty clothes and the gel stuff got all over the clothes! THEN he had had an accident on his bed during nap, so I put his sheets and pillow in the wash and the pillow came apart and all the stuffing came out! I guess that's what 4 bucks at K-mart will get ya!

The bag full of stuffing!

Happy Birthday Alexis!!

My best friends oldest turned 8 today! I can't believe she is already 8!! So much has happened since she was born! It was before Ron and I were even married! I took her to a basketball game when she was only about 6 months old (maybe a little older!) and she was such a doll! She has turned into a beautiful young lady and has her own unique personality (but most of her personality comes from her mama!) :o) I love her so much and hope that she had a great birthday! Happy Birthday, Alexis!

Muffin?

My parents gave the kids each a Costco muffin, however, one was destroyed before we left their house. They gave us another, incuding the one that was destroyed....which Emma had. I did my routine when we got home; got out, unbuckled Michael, then went around to get Emma and this is what I saw....

She had gotten into the already destroyed muffin and had it ALL OVER her carseat! AWESOME!

The remains...

The seat! I just took it out of the car and dumped it all over the grass outside.

Thanks for the muffin, grandma & grandpa!

Guess What?!

After many MANY conversations whether we should or shouldn't, we finally bit the bullet and..............PIERCED EMMA'S EARS!!! I originally wanted to wait until she was around 5, but Ron kept bringing it up because he was tired of people calling her a boy! So, I figured, what the heck?! Why not! I still had my doubts, but it went smooth (except for the crying!). the lady did a good job and they look really cute! They're still a little tender, but it should be fine after awhile. I'm just nervous she's going to get an infection. I had sensitive ears as a kid and had to wear 14k gold, so that's what I got her. Hopefully it will all work out (knock on wood!)
Before (all happy!):
After (not so happy!):

We went with a simple gold ball. I figure that when I can change her earrings out, I'll get her something really cute from work! I'm thinking pearls or diamonds! :o)

What We've Been Up To

I finally downloaded my pictures, so...without furthur adue...

When we were camping, I bought a big thing of bubbles. The kids loved playing with them! So, while I was at Target, they had the little bubble machines on clearance, so (being the lazy person I am) I bought one so it does all the work for me! The kids LOVE it! Here's Michael trying to eat the bubbles!
And Emma doing what her brother does!

The kiddo's!

Michael chillin' on the couch! (I thought this was hilarious!)

This was the other night just after reading scriptures. Michael was up on the chair and Emma climbed up next to him! So cute!

Our wacky water ward activity was last night and the kids had a blast on the slip 'n slide!

Michael wouldn't go unless I helped him, so I held his hand and we got a running start, and then I'd let him go on the slide.
Miss Emma trying to do it herself!

Tonight, the kids were playing and daddy thought he'd try to balance his recliner. He said he was doing pretty good....up until the recliner flipped backwards! I was laughing so hard and made him stay where he was until I could get a picture! What a dork! :o)

Responding To Criticism

I received this quote from the Daily Gems that I get every day and I really liked it. Sometimes I need a reminder...

"One sister asked, 'Why doesn't the church defend itself more actively when accusations are made against it?'....In such moments, we may want to respond agressively--to 'put up our dukes.' But these are important opportunities to step back, pray, and follow the Saviors example. Remember that Jesus Himself was despised and rejected by the world. And in Lehi's dream, those coming to the Savior also endured 'mocking and pointing...fingers' (1 Nephi 8:27)...When we respond to our accusers as the Savior did, we not only become more Christlike, we invite others to feel His love and follow Him as well." ~Robert D. Hales
