Waiting for Bear...

So, Michael has this little "bear blankie" that he likes to sleep with. He doesn't really carry it around anywhere, unless he's sick, he only has it when he takes naps or goes down at bedtime. So, the other day, I had taken his & Emma's bear blankies and thrown them in the wash. Well, he saw me take it and got all upset. I explained that bear was dirty and needed a bath, but he didn't want me to take it. When I got the load started, I picked him up so he could look inside (we have a see through top washer) and so he was a little happier, until I got tired of holding him so I put him down. He was upset for a little while, but then forgot about it until it was time for the dryer. He followed me in there and saw me put bear in the dryer and got upset when I closed the door. I showed him the door & we watched bear for a little while while it spun, but I got up and said "let's go" but I noticed he wasn't following. When I went back, he was now sitting on the ground watching and waiting! After awhile, I think he got bored because he went back to our room to watch TV and I got this picture:

I also got this picture of Emma. I came home one night and she was wrapped in a blanket & when I pulled the blanket off, I saw this:

Bath Time!

I decided to give the kids a bath together for the first time. It was sooooo cute! Emma would just stare at Michael and just smile and laugh! She NEVER laughs like that for me, but as soon as I get her in the tub with her brother, she cracks up! They are so cute together and I know that they just love each other to pieces!

Baby Michael

For the last little while, Michael has been climing up on the rocking chair and looking into Emma's crib, even if she's not in there. He also throws things in there, but the other day, I was getting Emma dressed with my back to the crib & when I turned around, this is what I saw! Now he thinks it's funny and tries to get in there when he can. That little Monkey!

Happy Spring!

We hope everyone had a great Easter! We did! Jen took Michael & Emma to the Kern County Museum for an egg hunt, but that turned out to be a bust! We then went to Grandma & Grandpa Pitts' house to color Easter eggs. Michael enjoyed himself & Emma even colored her own egg! (Pink, of course!)
Emma is now 4 months old & just had her check up and is 12 lbs 4 1/2 oz, and 25 inches long. She is in the 75th percentile for height & 25-5oth percentile for weight. She has been rolling over for about a month now, but has just recently figured out how to get her arm out from underneath her. She is sleeping in her crib & we're working on sleeping through the night. She loves to be wrapped up in soft fuzzy blankets and is starting to play with baby rattles & loves to hug her bunny she got for Easter!
Michael is 18 months old and went to Nursery for the "official" first time last Sunday! Mommy & Daddy were so excited & he seemed to love it! When we dropped him off, we opened the doors and he went in & didn't look back! It was a little upsetting at first, but when Mommy went in later to pick up the Nursery roll, he didn't want her to leave! So that made her feel good! Michael loves to play with his footballs, basketballs, golf balls, etc! He loves being outside, so mommy tries to take him for a walk everyday. When they come home, he ALWAYS points out the "Welcome Golfer" that we have in the garden by the front door and says "golf ball!" and then takes FOREVER to go inside 'cause he'd rather look at the golfer! We are trying to teach Michael words, an he's getting better at repeating us, but there are still some things that sound the same! He is learning his animal sounds & body parts as well. Our favorite animal sound he does is the Elephant because he takes his arm and moves it like a trunk! It is WAY cute!
Jen is loving being a stay at home mom and is even cooking! She doesn't love cooking, but finds it getting easier to think up meals and following through. She's pretty proud of herself! Jen is looking around for a part time job that she can do and has applied at a couple of places, but hasn't heard back. She really wanted to take pictures of newborns in the hospital, but they only had a position that included Sundays during church, so she passed. Hopefully something else will open up.
Ron is still working in Tehachapi and is working night shift as a "sick relief" officer which requires him to call in every day to see if someone called in sick and he works that position. He doesn't like having to do that, but he makes the most of it. It's nice that he works nights because we sleep through most of his shift, but that just means that he comes home and sleeps all morning! He is still the assistant golf coach for Garces High School and enjoys it. It does get frustrating though because there are things he would like to change, but can't because he's not the head coach yet! He has found some time to play some golf for himself, though. He has been trying to practice because he's wanting to play in some Monday qualifiers that are coming up. He has one coming up this Monday at Seven Oaks and has applied online for couple others. We'll keep you posted on the outcome!
